AANKONDIGING (English translation below)

De geplande competitiewedstrijd van zondag 12 juni 2016 (Enschede Broncos vs. Eindhoven Raptors) zal worden gespeeld als een vriendschappelijke partij en wordt door de American Football Bond Nederland (AFBN) aangemerkt als een 20-0 overwinning voor Enschede. Graag nodigen wij u uit om zondag naar Wethouder Horstman Sportpark te komen om deze wedstrijd bij te wonen. We trappen om 14:00u af.
Gisterenavond hebben de Broncos vernomen dat de Eindhoven Raptors niet het minimale aantal van 18 speelgerechtigde spelers kan meenemen naar Enschede, waardoor het gedwongen is de wedstrijd bij voorbaat op te geven. Om het Enschedese publiek niet teleur te stellen is daarom in overleg besloten om de wedstrijd om te zetten in een vriendschappelijk oefenduel dat niet gebonden is aan de regels zoals die zijn voorgeschreven door de AFBN. Dit stelt beide teams in staat om rookies en jeugdspelers op te stellen, die onder het AFBN-reglement geen deel zouden kunnen uitmaken van de spelersselectie. Het evenement van zondag 12 juni 2016 heeft daarmee doorgang zoals gepland, met als enkele aanpassing dat het uiteindelijke resultaat geen invloed heeft op de competitiestand van beide teams.
De Broncos zijn dankbaar dat de collega’s uit Eindhoven ondanks dit teleurstellende nieuws zondag naar Enschede afreizen voor een vriendschappelijke partij. We grijpen deze kans aan als een mogelijkheid om spelervaring op te doen en te benadrukken dat het 2016 seizoen voor Enschede is uitgelopen in een drama. Met slechts één thuiswedstrijd en vijf uitwedstrijden kan nauwelijks van een gebalanceerd of compleet schema worden gesproken. Enschede eindigt dit seizoen op de vijfde plaats in de competitie achter Nijmegen Pirates, Amsterdam Crusaders II, Spijkenisse Scouts en Lelystad Commanders, en voor Maastricht Wildcats, Utrecht Dominators, Eindhoven Raptors en Amersfoort Untouchables.
Op zondag 10 juli sluiten de Broncos het seizoen traditioneel af met een gezamenlijke training en oefenpartij met zustervereniging Bocholt Rhinos, wederom in Enschede. Na de wedstrijd is er een BBQ georganiseerd waar de spelers van beide teams samen met de aanwezige fans kunnen terugkijken op dit seizoen. Voor deze dag bent u allen van harte uitgenodigd!

The planned game for Sunday 12 June 2016 (Enschede Broncos vs. Eindhoven Raptors) will be played as a friendly exhibition match. Governing body AFBN will assign an administrative win to Enschede (20-0). We invite you all to come to Wethouder Horstman Sportpark in Enschede to support us. Kick-off time is set at 14:00h.
Last night the Broncos were informed by the Eindhoven Raptors that they are unable to field the required 18 players for their game against Enschede. This forces them to forfeit the game. In an attempt to offer the Enschede fans the spectacle they hoped for, the teams jointly decided to turn the planned game into a friendly exhibition match, unrestricted by the AFBN regulations. This allows the teams to let rookie and junior players acquire valuable game experience which would not be possible under the AFBN regulations. The event for Sunday 12 June 2016 will therefore still take place, with the only change being that the final score will not influence the league standings of either team.
The Broncos are grateful that their colleagues from Eindhoven are travelling to Enschede for an exhibition game, despite this disappointing news. We will seize this moment as an opportunity for the team to gain game experience and to emphasize that the 2016 season has turned out as quite the disappointment for Enschede. With just one home game and five away games, one can hardly speak of a balanced or complete season planning. Enschede will finish this season in fifth place behind Nijmegen Pirates, Amsterdam Crusaders II, Spijkenisse Scouts and Lelystad Commanders, and above Maastricht Wildcats, Utrecht Dominators, Eindhoven Raptors and Amersfoort Untouchables.
On Sunday 10 July 2016 the Broncos will end the season during their traditional combined practice and exhibition game with sister organization Bocholt Rhinos, again in Enschede. There will be a BBQ after the game in which fans and players from both team can look back upon this season. You are all invited to join us that day!
